\ Bakes Admissions Advising \

Hi, I'm Chris. I'm a former Yale and Columbia admissions officer — and your personal admissions coach.

Nice to meet you.

I'm a college admissions advisor with actual admissions experience.

As an admissions officer, I evaluated 5,000 applications from students all over the world. I loved my work; engaging with some of the brightest, most hardworking young minds made for intellectually exciting days.

In July 2017, I left admissions to start a new career, but I still wanted to connect with students embarking on their college search. That’s how I started working as a private admissions advisor for motivated students and their families.

While at Yale, I managed recruitment throughout Asia, South America, and parts of Europe. At Columbia, I led recruitment in Chicago and the American Midwest. I had the chance to meet students in bustling urban landscapes like New York City and Chicago, in the expansive plains of Iowa and northern Indiana, and in major global centers like Mumbai and São Paulo. I happily work with clients from around the globe, regardless of location or schooling system.

I served as a deliberating member in admissions committees. At both universities, sitting in committee rooms taught me the contours of how admissions offices make decisions. Now, as a private admissions advisor, I collaborate closely with my clients to educate them about how their application will be evaluated—and more importantly, to strategize how we can uniquely position them for success.

Why I advise:

I earned my B.A. at Yale after graduating from Choate Rosemary Hall. I filled my college years studying literature, touring with a comedy group, and working part-time student jobs at the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

More importantly, my college years were a time spent building empathy, naming my values, and engaging in important self-discovery. When done thoughtfully, the college process (and the four years succeeding it) can be profoundly impactful on the life of the mind. It's for that reason that I love helping students find the schools that help them grow into the person they want to be—while offering peace of mind to families as we navigate the application process together.

Outside of advising, I’m an avid reader, am passionate about education policy, and take long walks with my 7-year-old dachshund, Penny. She is pure mischief in eight pounds.
